Our focus this week is all about Malaysian footballers based abroad!

As we know, Malaysian wonderboy Luqman Hakim has already signed with Belgian side K.V. Kortrijk. The expectation is really high on this young lad to open the door for Malaysian football to penetrate the European market.

And staying with Belgium, there is also Dion Cools, who is half Belgian/Malaysian is now playing for FC Midtjylland in the Danish Superliga. Of course, Cools has yet to answer the call to wear the Harimau Malaya shirt yet as he is still eligible to play for Belgium after having represented them at Under-16 all the way Under-21 level. So what’s the story behind him?

Then we had further good news this week after we had leaned on the possibility of current Malaysian superstar, Safawi Rasid heading to Portugal to play for Portimonense S.C. Though the deal is not finalized just yet, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) are open to listening to any offers.

To discuss all this, we have brought our friend and former guest, Marco Negri. You may still remember him from the Newcastle United episode we did back in April.

Alongside him is His Excellency, Belgium’s Ambaddsor to Malaysia, Pascal H. Grégoire. In case you didn’t know, Mr Gregoire was heavily involved in making it possible on Luqman’s transfer to Belgium. So it was a huge honour for us to be able to host him (together with Marco) on our show.
